Get Sticky w/ It

Howdy, Zack here.

10 days in. Have you failed yet?

You know what I'm referring to.

That all-important New Year's Resolution.

I get it. You really wanted something to change.

But change is hard.

And sticking with it is even harder.

We've all been there, haven't we?

Yet, for years, perhaps even decades, you've dreamed of...

- Getting your business on track
- Losing that weight & eating healthier
- Learning an instrument or a new language
- Making more money and taking that vacation
- Stopping wasted time on your phone
- Prioritizing time with the fam

But, we need one ingredient to transform these dreams into reality...

Let's call it, Stick-with-it-ness

Sure, it's a term I coined (because 'stick-to-itiveness' looks odd, right?). But, it embodies Merriam-Webster's definition perfectly: dogged perseverance and tenacity.

Take it from my family's experience. Our daughter, Hayley, just wrapped up a year of daily Spanish lessons on Duolingo, and she's on a 25-day guitar streak that's quickly becoming music to our ears. Our son Cole and I conquered the 75 Hard challenge, which helped me shed 20 pounds and took his tennis game to new heights. And our daughter, Nolie, was born with stick-with-it-ness. She's dedicated to her craft when she's working on a new skill or learning a new song for an audition. And then there's our annual Daniel Fast, a commitment to healthier eating and spiritual growth.

In business, stick-with-it-ness is embedded in our operating systems — from regular meetings to consistent application of core strategies.

If you're serious about reaching your goals, boosting your stick-with-it-ness is non-negotiable.

3 WAYS

  • One Day, One Step at a Time
Whatever goal you're working toward, the only way to achieve it is to break it down and consistently show up.
  • Stop Making Excuses
Life is hard. Not reaching your goal is harder. Don't say why you can't; instead show yourself that you can.
  • Get Sticky w/ It
Some days will be easy. Other days will feel impossible. The important part is to keep showing up.

Just remember:
Your stick-with-it-ness is the game-changer. It's what transforms long-held aspirations into proud achievements. 💪

How We Scale • Stop

Howdy, Zack here. Stop it. Stop doing the things that aren't working for you. Sound too simple? Well, it's not. It's one of the hardest things to do. Yet, funny enough, once you've done it, you'll wonder why you didn't do it sooner. You know what's not working for you. Ugh, lump in my throat. I have a few that come to mind right now. It might be eating too much, not working out, wasting time on social media, getting caught up in drama, focusing on big world issues (like politics), or pretty...

Howdy, Zack here. I love you. Yes, you. And, that love is not conditional. We all have our faults. I know when I've been at my worst, that I need others' love the most. Unless you've been living under a rock or you've intentionally disconnected (can't blame you), you've seen the effect of deliberate division — the recent assassination attempt on former President Trump. No matter your political beliefs, this sort of hatred has no place in our world. It stems from the polarization of our...

Howdy, Zack here. When will it be time? We often wait for that perfect 'when' — the moment everything falls into place. But what if 'when' is actually right now? As a dad of triplets on the brink of their senior year, time feels more precious than ever. Everything has been one-and-done for us. Before long, my wife, Gwen, and I will be seeing our 3 off to college. Thus, each moment matters more. Can you relate? When certain chapters come to an end, we tend to feel the gravity of our decisions...
